Asia Pacific Mezzanine
In December 2005 ICG successfully closed its first dedicated fund for the Asia Pacific region. The Intermediate Capital Asia Pacific Mezzanine Fund 2005 (the "Fund") is a US$500 million mezzanine fund targeting LBO and growth/expansion capital investment opportunities across the region, with particular focus on Australia, Greater China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Singapore and Taiwan.
ICG has been active in the Asia Pacific region since 2001 and had already completed three investments in the region prior to closing the Fund. The Fund comprised $500m commitments, of which $300m were committed by third party investors and $200m was commited by ICG. The Fund was the largest dedicated Pan-Asian mezzanine fund in the region and reflects ICG's expectation that the rapidly growing level of private equity interest will continue to fuel the use of mezzanine in Asia Pacific.
